Simon Says Stamp and Show - Challenge - No Rules

One of the designers Suzz did a family gathering of wooden spoons to make the place settings so I was inspired to do wooden spoons of my own. I e-mailed for permission to use them  in the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge and Hel's Sunday Stamper. I had great fun in making them.
I started by giving a  covering coat of distress stains in blue red green and yellow. When this was dry I gave another coat of  distress stain in picket fence to mute the colours.. Then I stamped the handles and edges of the spoons  using Tim Holtz's stamps. I made them look grungy by using vintage photo distress ink.

I got the images I placed in the spoons off the internet......

Then I embellished them ......

 with ribbons and lace....

flowers and some Tim Holtz Idea-olgy.

  4. Your choice of muted colours for the spoons is really good - makes the m look 'vintage'. I like the images you ha ve used on the bowls of the spoons. I can imagine a meal where you have used these spoons as place markers and those people have all come for dinner. Would be an interesting evening to listen to them talking!
