Simon Says Stamp and Show "Read All About It"
Having bought the Tim Holtz's border from a show in May this was my first time I have used it in a project. I coloured the sewing room border with gold and silver dabber and then distressed it with walnut ink and barned door then wrapped some cord around the cotton reel.
I decided to use Kraft Resist paper and I coloured it in with distress stain, broken china. I cut out the dress former with my Vagabond and then cut another layer out of sticky backed canvas. I distressed the body of the canvas with vintage photo.
I hope you can see the Kraft Resist paper in the above image. There was a saying that I had "Sewing mends the Soul" and I placed it on some Kraft paper and distressed it around the edges with vintage photo.
Hope you like my entry into the Simon Says Stamp and Show "Read All About It" challenge sponsored by the Simon Says shop. All the products used were from Tim Holtz except for the saying.

Hi Carol! Very nice job of incorporating Tim's sewing on the edge die cut into your piece! It looks fantastic! Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteLove that border die Carol and you have used it to great effect in this piece. The dressform is one of my favourite of TH's dies, you can never go wrong when using it. A really lovely piece and yes, the Kraft resist shows up very well. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely one Carol, and I like the 'Sewing mends the soul' saying - sewing has been so much part of our lives, and you have always made such beautiful stitched things that this is a celebration of it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! the colours remind me of the seaside! :)You rule.
