Tim Holtz - 12 tags of 2012 - April

I have made this tag for Tim Holtz - 12 tags of 2012 - April, the instructions are on Tim Holtz's site. I followed the instructions for the background and I inked it with a number of distress inks: wild honey, dusty concord, broken china, seedless preserves and went around the edges with gathered twigs. I didn't have the twig and the bird Tim Holtz was using so I used the bird from Bigz Die Caged Bird with grungeboard and then stuck tissue tape by Tim Holtz over the bird and wing and coloured it in with alcohol inks pool and stonewashed by Ranger.

I used the Movers & Shappers Mini Branch and Leaf set by Tim Holtz to make two brancvhes and two leaves. I distressed them with distress ink gathered twigs and peeled paint. Finally I finished off the tag with the words "Bird" and "Fly" from PaperArtsy (HP1005EZ)

I really enjoyed making this because it's nice to be able to adapt Tim's design by using products from my stash. It was a great day because Tim Holtz's book a Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 arrived today I can't wait to sit down and read it.

  2. So pretty and exactly what I would like to do today. Fly high wild and free, instead of staring at all the book work in front of me. I might keep nicking back to look at your sweet tag for sustenance.

  3. Carol this is lovely - really it is! The colours are gorgeous as are the little tissue covered birds. I haven't done a single TH tag and this makes me wish I had! I suppose it's never too late to start! Have a lovely weekend.
